Shri Mahavir Jain Hr. Sec. School (Jain School) was opened on 1st of September 1950 and was raised to Middle School 1968, to High School in 1964 and in 1986 became a Higher Secondary School. Jain School, under the visionary guidance of Shri Mahavir Jain Educational Society, has crossed many milestones on the road of multi-dimensional sectors of educational excellence and is privileged to be the senior most centre of educational proximity throughout Jammu & Kashmir.

Institution is a matter of pride for all those associated with it. Our alumni like IAS, Doctors, Engineers , Politician and educationist are the source of inspiration for our students who leave no stone unturned to excel in academic as well as in sports activities. I proudly say that i am also of S.M. Jain hr. Sec. School. The result of Hr.Sec. Part –II & Secondary school examination are the indicators of the true spirit and hard work of our teachers who always made S.M. Jain Hr. Sec. School shine like a star. Since last year we had a very large no of staff changes and backup system upgrades. We wish every success to our new staff members who are working hard in the class rooms. My endeavours is to create an atmosphere of progressive and free thinking along with a habit of hard work among the pupils who in turn would bring new ideas and new energy required to built a batter society. I congratulate the previous 12th and 10th classes pass out for their very good performance in the exams and wish them bright feature in carrier and life ahead. I welcome new comers to the school with an advise to maintain the school with the record of excellence & honour. I also thank the members of management for giving their hundred percent cooperation for the upliftment of academic and other activities.
